APPROACH, IMPACT & DISSEMINATION

 

One of the key methodological issues confronting the field of international education is the bringing together of qualitative and quantitative approaches to advance our profession. With the aim of this project being to better understand the transformational outbound mobility experience, a balanced approach will  be taken for this investigation. Building on the work of Daly (2011) and Leask (2008 & 2009) we consider students presented with outbound mobility opportunities (both those who do and do not take up OMPs) and staff responsible for their implementation and delivery. These perspectives will be obtained across faculties (Arts, Education and Business) and across two institutions (UWS and MU). OMPs have existed well 

before the introduction of funding opportunities such as the New Colombo Plan and AsiaBound grants and these experiences have assisted in the development and the approach of EPITOME.
